My husband and family had lunch at The Folly a few weeks ago, unfortunately I was working and couldn't join them. They raved about the meal, so on my first Sunday off, I booked for lunch and was blown away by the delicious food!!! Thank you to all the very friendly staff for making it a great experience. We will certainly be back for the meal and the VERY tasty sticky toffee pudding!!! Thank you Folly

Met my daughter in law & granddaughter at The Folly last Friday for lunch. Have not been there before- just noticed it when driving past & booked online. I had problems due to the roadworks & was late. The staff were lovely & really helpful- they even drew me a map showing how I could bypass the road works in Towcester. Food excellent- will definitely go again when in the area.

An oasis in a desert where good food is served without pretentious displays and at a reasonable price. Consistently good it isn’t surprising The Folly was full when we arrived. Quickly shown to our table and made to feel as though we were welcome, often not the case at other establishments, pre dinner drinks and menus are soon delivered where the choice of dishes is so tempting it makes it difficult to choose, can you have too many delicious sounding things to make your selection from? Perhaps this is part of The Folly’s secret, you just have to go back and try something else on the menu.

A lovely Saturday lunch which should've been a celebration for my 92 year old Mum, but instead she spent her birthday in Northampton General! Wonderful impromptu Friday lunch date with my hubbie. The great value two course menu was faultless; we shared the indulgent cheese souffle starter and waldorf salad, and wish we had ordered two venison pies for main course - just gorgeous, finished off with an autumnal creme brulee. It is so rare to go out for a meal and not feel like I could have cooked better/equivalent at home. Simply wonderful x

Thank you to all staff , another wonderful meal Sunday lunch this time. We had booked a table for six people we all had something different and really enjoyed the lovely food, even our 5 year old grandson ate all his lunch (very unusual for him ). Apologies for 3 off our group being 1/2 hr late due to a Brakedown on route , although the restaurant was very busy and the table was needed for the next diners the staff handled this very well. We had two lunches at The Folly in August. The first time my husband and I had such a good meal that we booked up for eight of us, for a special occasion, a couple of weeks later. We were not disappointed! We had a number of different dishes between us, all of which were enjoyed - highlights were the cheese souffles and panna cotta. We are looking for opportunities to return (we don't live in the area) as are some of our guests, who also commented on the efficiency and friendliness of the staff.

We found The Folly online and booked a table about a month before we arrived for MotoGP.
The staff are wonderful, especially our lovely waitress.
We asked for a couple of changes to what was on the menu and they were very accommodating.
The food was sublime. I tried ox cheeks for the first time and the meat just melted in your mouth.
My husband had pork and it was gorgeous.
If you have pudding go for the Sticky Toffee Pudding, one of the best I have had the pleasure to eat.
Thank you to the chef for a wonderful meal. If we return to Silverstone we will be booking a table again.

Another excellent meal with friendly and efficient service. The food is very well cooked and presented by the kitchen staff. I certainly believe that The Folly is the best restaurant by far in the Towcester area.

We, 4 people, visited the Folly for the first time on Sunday 18th August and was warmly welcomed by the staff. On being shown to our table we were allowed time to digest the menu before we were asked for our drinks order followed shortly after by requesting our main order.
We have to say the food was excellent with the meat done to perfection and the vegetables were just as we preferred them.
I believe what makes an excellent restaurant is the staff - we could not have asked for better they were attentive without being over the top, we're friendly without being to familiar. All in all a good time was had by all.

We returned on Saturday for a second visit for dinner and you were as excellent as you were on first time experience. The staff were wonderful and the food was exceptional. We have tested out both the food and the staff over the last couple of weeks, a lunchtime meal for two, then a family lunch for six and finally another lunch for eleven last Sunday and on each occasion the food and the service were excellent.
Nice friendly atmosphere, superb cooking and all our guests were most impressed.

It was a Sunday so we all had Roast Dinners and each was thoughtfully put together with different condiments, gravy, all the vegetables had been thought through carefully and the biggest yorkshires ever! The pork belly terrific as usual,I have it here at least once a month but the mash and cabbage rather boring.I seem to rember in the past there was a date sort of mash that was much better.Can David remember?

Came here for a meal before the races. Thought the food would be good from previous reviews and we were not disappointed. I've eaten in some good restaurants in my time and this food is batting at Michelin star standards. Great flavour combinations. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

This time celebrating my wife’s 60th. The food was just superb (as always - so ‘We’ll Done’ Chef) and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient. We only visit on special occasions, so it is nice to find a reliably top quality restaurant.
I hope the ‘high end’ input from The Grange housing estate doesn’t make it impossible to get a table in the future, and I hope Robert manages to keep it cosy and discreet. It’s certainly a credit to himself and his team.

Another wonderful lunch on Tuesday. Fabulous service and simply sublime food. We were so taken with the food that we asked to speak to the chef. David was more than happy to come out and chat which was a real treat for us as foodies. I have taken so many people to The Folly over the last couple of years almost hoping that someone will identify a flaw that I have missed...... nah, it not happening !
The service is perfect, the staff are attentive without being suffocating and the food is stunning.

Once again very good. I fancied something different for lunch especially as I had Fillet Steak waiting at home for my evening meal. I didn’t think I was a Ravioli and Ragu person until today it was delicious. My wife and son both enjoyed their meals too. We didn’t have time for dessert on this occasion but the starters and mains were excellent.

Yes, I agree with so many others that the food,service, staff & value for money are excellent. What I also appreciated was that there are enough soft furnishings to absorb excessive noise, you can converse softly & comfortably. Too many other places are like echo chambers with everyone shouting to be heard above the echo.

I meet up with an old school friend for lunch on a regular basis and the Folly is mid-way between our homes. The food and service is consistently excellent. A lovely sunday lunch today; a couple of small improvements such as the size of the table (too small for 5) and the portion size of the chicken Kiev (too small and not enough potato and veg) but the food we DID have was beautifully presented, very tasty and we will definitely be back

This is my 'Go To' place for Sunday lunch . The food is always beautifully presented, freshly cooked and delicious. The service is always excellent thanks to the friendly and efficient team and Rob is very welcoming. Have also eaten here on several occasions for dinner and you have never failed to impress with an excellent menu choice. Highly recommended but would advise people to book as word is clearly spreading!

Selected The Folly to have our Christmas Dinner as it is by far the best restaurant in the area and none of us were disappointed. We selected from both the Christmas and the A la carte menus and the showstoppers were the Cheddar soufflé starter and the Gressingham duck which was perfectly cooked......just beautiful !

Mum and I came for lunch to celebrate her birthday. The menu is super, really inventive, lovely flavours which compliment each other. The staff are welcoming and attentive, the restaurant is clean and comfortable. We both enjoyed a 3 course lunch and mum had a birthday candle with her desert. My first visit to The Folly for a relaxed business evening meal. Well worthy of their awards. Food was excellent and ambiance calm and relaxed which was perfect for our needs. The staff were attentive but not imposing and there was no pressure to rush despite a busy evening.

We've eaten here previously although never Sunday lunch but I have to say it was every bit as good as previous visits. The food was beautifully cooked and the service excellent. One of the best if not THE best restaurant in the area

Our first experience of Sunday lunch, although have eaten on other occasions, at the Folly and once again had a delicious meal. Impressive Yorkshire puddings and superb sticky toffee pudding. We also loved the birthday candle in my wife's pudding as we were there on her birthday, thank you!

We were celebrating our anniversary with our son and daughterinlaw we had been to the folly before but my son and wife had not they were very impressed so much so we booked for a Christmas dinner on our way out,and looking forward to our next fantastic meal.Thanks to all at the Folly.

I booked lunch for myself and my husbands third wedding anniversary and I am so glad we chose The Folly. The food was simply stunning and of a standard well above what I was expecting - a wonderful surprise. We had a lovely relaxed lunch, unhurried by the staff who were warm and welcoming. The icing on the cake was when, as I had requested as a surprise, our first dance song was played for us. Fabulous customer service which absolutely made our day. Cannot recommend The Folly highly enough, thank you.

This was our first trip to The Folly and we LOVED it! (It certainly won't be our last). We're vegetarians and we had the roast vegetarian lunch which was delicious; the service was excellent; the ale was very good (Bell Ringer) and the ambiance was relaxed and friendly. Highly recommended.

Haven’t been to the Folly for awhile due to the A5 roadworks rather than anything else but a group of us girls returned to celebrate a birthday and we weren’t disappointed.
We all ordered five different meals and they were all excellent.
Barely had room for pudding but some of us managed it and they were as good as the main course.
Service excellent too

Rob and his excellent team have done it again!
We have been regular visitors to The Folly for the past three years, sometimes taking friends, and have always been very impressed by the quality of food and the very friendly helpful and efficient staff. Apart from all that, we just love comfort and tranquility of the place, (hard to find these days).
Our most recent visit, 24th October, was a treat for friends celebrating 30th wedding anniversary. Huge success, outstanding meal.

I visited for the first time last night for a birthday meal with my daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was attentive and friendly without being over the top, and the food was lovely. Being new the area, I am pleased to have found The Folly and will definitely be back.

I booked for a large group of ladies to have dinner from the party menu. The table were exactly as asked for and also looked very attractive. The service was excellent and the food superb. Everyone enjoyed their meal and I expect lots of us will be returning.

We visited The Folly after having last been there some months if not years ago before the refurbishment.
Very pleased to say the quality of the food, the attention of the bar staff and the whole experience was all as hoped for after reading the reviews online as we were there for a friends birthday.
Will definitley be visiting again, and hopefully soon especially as we are local .

We lunched on 20th September as a party of four choosing from the fixed price lunch menu. This is our fifth trip and half our party travel from Leicester whilst I and my wife travel up from Newbury. The food really is of gourmet quality, the choice is excellent and presentation is superb. The range of real ales is also good. We look forward to our next visit in January.

We had chosen Towcester and particulary The Folly at random as an half-way venue to meet family on Saturday. The staff and the food beat any expectations we had. The food was a genuine treat and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

Wonderful lunch party for 14 of us. The service was excellent and prompt all the meals arrived at the same time and as a majority of the party had children to collect from school back in Milton Keynes we were able to enjoy from 12 to 2pm without having to clock watch. Very good value for money the set menu. Will certainly be visiting again.

I have been a customer at the Folly for two years now and the food and service is always second to none.
This week I took my boyfriend there for lunch for his birthday and was once again blown away by the quality of the food. For his birthday last year, we went to The Hand and Flowers in Marlow (Tom Kerridge's two Michelin starred restaurant) but in my opinion the food at the Folly is better.
Everything is always perfectly cooked, the menu (which changes frequently) carries great choice and flavour combinations and the presentation is beautiful without being pretentious.
I will continue to recommend the Folly to anyone who will listen. Please never change your chef!!!

Came with friends for a meal on Friday eve. Being vegan, I was expecting salad... but no... they had a full veggie menu with vegan options - that were AMAZING! Thank you so much. Can't wait to come again, the meal was delicious and our waitress couldn't do enough to help me :-)

We have just had our first visit to the Folly...what a find! We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly team,lots of smiles!
The menu is small but perfectly formed! The portions were huge and the taste...... definitely will be back !

Following a visit to National Trust at Stowe we had Sunday Lunch at this marvellous jewel in Towcester.
We were warmly welcomed and shown to a delightful table in lovely dining area. Service and cuisine was excellent and although we live in Surrey.....we will certainly be back.

Hello! My partner and I had a delightful dinner at The Folly on Tuesday this week. We were warmly welcomed and led to our table in the very cosy dining area. We had beef carpaccio and the cheese souffle for starters - both delicious - followed by spinach and ricotta tortellini and the best pork belly I have ever had, anywhere (and I like pork belly, a lot!). The service was as excellent as the food. We will certainly return if we come back to Towcester!

The Folly has become one of our favourite restaurants.
The food is superb and the service and friendly atmosphere are hard to beat. We took our visitors on Saturday and they were blown away by the great meals they had and him indoors complimented the chef on the grouse.

Went to the Folly after a driving experience at Silverston, staff were lovely and the food delicious. The ordering bit was tricky as everything looked delicious and proof in the pudding, from all that we finally choose, it was!

This is our favorite restaurant by far. The food and service are always excellent without exception. The atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly.
Unfortunately we don't live locally so don't get to visit as often as we would like, but we make a point of going as often as possible.

My first visit to The Folly was with 5 other guests, none of whom had eaten there previously. The impressions we had received when I booked the lunch were that it was a very nice place with very good food. Well, I for one was not disappointed nor indeed were my guests - all expressed the view that the food was very good and the lunch most enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the wines which came from a relatively short wine list but include a very good Gruner Veltliner and an enjoyable Primitivo.

We have been to the folly many times but never for a Sunday dinner boy do we regret having not been before ,we had roast pork and it was to die for ,Yorkshire puds like you have never seen before too totally scrumpy. Service great as always and a big thankyou to the chef for a fab meal we will be booking again soon .

Yet again, the Folly Inn did not dissapoint. We were a party of 14 celebrating the marriage of our Daughter the next day.
The food, as usual was excellent. The service was faultless.

Our first visit on 10.08.17 for a birthday dinner was superb. The service was attentive but not intrusive and the food was wonderful. What to choose from the menu was difficult - so much so that when it came to dessert we had the sharing platter - a bit of everything. It was so good that we now know we need to come many more times to try everything individually. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Two week-end guests staying in my house kindly offered to take me out to lunch as a thank you for having them, and we all thoroughly enjoyed a really excellent Sunday roast. My choice was pork, which was superbly cooked, with the crackling being deliciously crisp, without being so hard as to be difficult to bite. We were too full for anything other than ice cream for dessert, and we loved the imaginative variety of flavours. I have been to the Folly many times before, and I look forward to my next visit.

This was our first time here, we went on a Sunday so took advantage of the Roast and it didnt disappoint.
Highly recommend this place food was excellent, Staff where friendly and left you to enjoy your food unlike some places being asked every mouthful if everything is okay.
We will deffiantly be returning to check out the mid week menu.

Excellent meal on 25.07.2017 to celebrate my husbands birthday. All four of us managed three courses which were all demolished with gusto. We love the food, and the surroundings and the friendly service.

We came to The Folly for lunch for the first on 20th July. The four of us chose from the set menu, two,having starters and mains; two mains and puds. All the courses were delicious. The wine was also excellent and very sensibly priced. The decor is very smart - modern but comfortable. Last but not least, the warmth of the welcome and the service were just lovely. All in all, we had an ansolutely wonderful time and will definitely return. Highly recommended.

We visited The Folly, as we were staying in Towcester on route to the F1 Campsites. Last year we had popped in for desert only and had the tasting platter, which was so nice we booked for a full service this year. We were not disappointed, the food was superb, as was the service and team. We even managed to sample another tasting platter. I'm sure we will be back on route to the race next year. Thanks all

My husband and I visited on Wednesday 12th July having booked a table on 5th December 2016 as I knew it would be busy. The souffles that we both had were to die for and my pork was lovely and from the little bit of guinea fowl that my husband let me have also tasted very good.
My only complaint is that there was no room for a desert!
We are looking to go to Towcester in November and will definitely book again once we have the date.
It was a lovely evening and both the staff and service was excellent.

Excellent meal last Saturday. Place was full but service was excellent. Food was as usual of a high standard. Scallop starter was very tasty and nicely presented. I had the Lamb main which was very tasty. The five of us in our party had a great night. Staff were very efficient. Another visit will be sooner rather than later

A superb meal last night......again! It was great to see scallops on the starter menu and both my husband and I opted for them and thoroughly enjoyed the dish. The guinea fowl was succulent with the duxelles stuffing ensuring that it was both flavoursome and moist. The white/dark chocolate dessert was rich but not at all heavy. A real treat! Thank you Robert, David and all the staff.....a deliciously enjoyable evening.

My wife and I visited the Folly Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary on the 8th of June 2017. We choose The Folly Inn three or four times a year for special celebrations because we know that we are guaranteed the very best tasting food and superb friendly service.

Towcester Centurion's - Annual Golf Dinner
Our party visited newly refurbished restaurant on Sat 10th June. Meal was excellent with good menu choice, quality and presentation combined with friendly service. The Black pudding & potato hash topped with a breaded poached egg was a great starter and my favorite. Compliments all round and well worth a return visit was the consensus from us all. Visited on Thursday 8th of June first visit since refurb, love all the old pictures of Towcester and the new colour scheme looks fab.
Our food was absolutely outstanding, the calves liver was delicious the flavours all came together so well, was concerned about the beetroot tops but wow they so worked well.
Will definitely be recommending you to others as always.

First visit since the refurb......so much lighter with the updated colour scheme and furnishings. Particularly loved all the old photos of Towcester!
As ever the food was superb....the hake was beautiful and the rabbit terrine delicious. All 4 of us were impressed with the dishes we had chosen .....well cooked, artistically yet unpretentiously presented. Highly recommended!

Lovely venue, charming service and excellent food. Most amazing Beef Wellington I have ever had, although would have loved to be able to order an additional side of another vegetable. Hadn't appreciated that it was your first night opening after the first stage of refurbishment, I am struggle with smell of fresh paint, but the overall experience was lovely. Thank you.

A friend of ours had visited The Folly several times and always had a lovely meal. I checked on trip advisor and was interested to see some of the negative comments. I always take these with a pinch of salt; especially when I see the response.
My husband and I went on Wednesday evening for his birthday and were warmly welcomed by a lovely waiter and the owner chatted to us. We had a lovely meal and wine and everyone could not have been more attentive but not over bearing. We are looking forward to bringing our friends and dining here again. It's lovely to find a good independent restaurants near MK as there are not many in MK itself.

Booked for my partners 70th birthday and was so glad I chose The Folly. What a lovely place. The interior is welcoming but not overcrowded. The menu was very good and the actual food was brilliant. The service was swift, friendly and very efficient. We will definitely be back.

From the moment we stepped through the door we were welcomed & treated to first class customer service. Celebrated my husbands birthday here, booked on line & just asked if they could add a happy birthday in chocolate sauce to my husbands dessert as an extra touch. The team instead produced a fantastically decorated plate complete with a champagne bottle candle and made his night. Can't thank the team enough for such a great evening, oh and the food was gorgeous too.

Every time we have passed The Folly Inn near Towcester my husband has commented what a beautiful pub and how he always wanted to have a meal there. I booked a surprise meal for him to celebrate his Birthday. What a fabulous place this is. Exceptionally friendly and attentive staff and out of this world food. I had the slow cooked Pork Belly and it was sublime. The rest of the party enjoyed their meals equally. On Saturday January 14th, I made my nth. visit to this superlative restaurant. I use the term nth., because I have visited so many times; I have lost count of how many times: suffice to say that I still haven't made as many visits as I would like. The Folly Inn no longer surprises me, but always utterly delights me, and those I bring with me, with consistently wonderful food. This last visit was with my wife, brother and two friends. We all moved through the courses relishing every morsel, delighted with each and every bite. It is a mixed blessing that The Folly is some little distance from my home; otherwise I suspect I would be there several times each week. Long may this wonderful restaurant continue to serve the most splendid meals, at such terrific value. I am running out of superlatives, so this is enough from me. Until next time. Twelve diners had fabulous meals, the food was delicious, portions were generous. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the staff were attentive and had great sense of humour. For ten of our party it was a first time, but obviously won't be the last.

An excellent meal, 9 of us enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Lunch, I had the Whitebait and Duck which were delicious , the Belly Pork I understand was lean/tasty and did have crisp crackling. All our meals were outstanding, with additional vegetables. All the food was served hot. The staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much for them . I am returning on the 19th with another groups of friends, and know that everyone will enjoy their meal as much as I did. Thank you. I would have no problem recommending The Folly

This is a favourite local restaurant of my son and our first visit. It's always a good sign when you look at the menu and know that you could eat everything! The food is of generous proportions but the style is top restaurant quality. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were prompt, friendly and professional.

Seven of us had a delicious Sunday lunch here recently. The main courses were very generous and the brisket of beef was so tender it just fell apart. I wish I hadn't shared my chocolate and walnut tart with my daughter as I had to fight her for some! Looking forward to our next visit.

My partner and I visited here on Saturday evening. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, we still managed to overindulge in a relaxed meal in ambient surroundings, being served lovely food with 'just right' portion sizes by very pleasant and accommodating waiting staff.
I would like to add that the 'overindulgence' part was entirely our fault and should not reflect in any way on The Folly Inn!!!

The gentlemen on my initial call was very accommodating for a booking of 6 people for Sunday lunch at shortish notice. Everyone enjoyed the superb food and the service was incredible. A lovely lady catered to all our different needs from my octagenerian parents- in-law down to my weary early teens who were weary from a night hike. A ver memorable meal, thanks to you all.

I came to the Folly Inn on the 9th November 16 with my parents and a friend. My mum and I had the fish stew. My Dad had the Belly of pork and my friend had the turkey.

Wow! The Barbary duck is one of the best plates of food I have had there......just delicious....all the individual parts....the meat, pear, red cabbage, dauphinoise potato and seasonal vegetables just all worked together so well. Really superb and beautifully cooked!

Faultless. The staff are efficient, friendly and very welcoming. The food is extremely good and the price very reasonable. The breast of chicken with crab is a MUST to try. It was amazing.

From start to finish a wonderful pleasant evening. A warm welcome that greets you and then a high standard of service from the waiting staff who where very friendly and had time to chat and offer recommendations from the menu.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and I cannot wait for another anniversary to return again.
The 4 dessert platter to share is a superb option and I recommend the pan fried Sea Beam to anyone. The chef outdone himself with this dish alone.

What a wonderful restaurant you have created. I owed two friends lunch after they had helped me out, I selected The Folly Inn on a whim, I'm so glad I did. We were made to feel most welcome as soon as we arrived and the friendly but professional service continued throughout our stay. The lunch menu was varied and there was a choice of set menu or Al a Carte. Food quality and service really makes this place stand out and all at a good price.

Despite me making an error with the booking and turning up 24 hours late, the team managed to find us a table despite being full, and served us the most delicious dinner - the slow roasted lamb was so tender, and my confit duck melted in the mouth. Courteous and helpful staff looked after us promptly, and we will certainly return again soon. Visited again for my birthday on 6 April. Brilliant again. Excellent food - the duo of beef was outstanding - combined with excellent front of house and service. Despite deciding against puddings, I got a complimentary scoop of ice cream with a mini-champagne-bottle candle burning brightly on the top. Eleven out of ten for picking up from a conversation at the bar that it was my birthday. Thanks. We''l be back soon.

Wanted to entertain visitors to lunch in our area, and chose the Folly Inn from the internet. A great choice, it was. Warmly greeted on arrival, escorted to table and well attended by staff. The menu choices were very interesting, and the food, on arrival at the table were on well heated plates, and, on consumption, were very tasty. Will definitely return in the future, and will recommend to friends and family.

I have eaten at the Folly a few times and have always had a very good experience so decided to book for my husbands birthday for a table of 8. It was the perfect evening. The service was friendly and efficient - all the meals were brought out piping hot and at the same time. The food was presented beautifully, with so much flavour - everyone in the party was very impressed. All in all you really can not fault The Folly: Great service, very high standard food at a very reasonable price. I can certainly say we will be regular visitors and will see you again very soon!

As always we meal was just gorgeous again the other night . Service throughout was very good, can't imagine you would get such helpful and polite service anywhere else in Towcester. We both had steak and chips, never tried before at The Folly and we will be ordering it again some time soon l should think. We also finished off the the Folly dessert platter which if you like your puds it's to die for. They have recently changed their menus on both main and desserts so we were very happy with our new choices .

For the last three years this has been the favoured location for my son's birthday. We had a great time as ever, and the staff were really considerate in making sure we were served so as to get him back to school by the prescribed hour. It is such a great place.

I live in Doncaster and travel down to Towcester to visit family several times a year. I have never managed to have Lamb off the menu, but at the same time I have always been blown away by the standard of food. Today, well all I can I say is wow !! Lamb was amazing, can't wait to return.

We visited the Folly Inn on the 29th January and had an excellent meal with great attentive service. Nothing was rushed and had a great evening celebrating my son and mines birthdays. My son said the pulled pork starter and trio of beef was perfect and throughly enjoyed them as did the rest of us with our choices. I went for the veggie option which was lovely. Potion sizes spot on not too little or too much so we managed desert which again excellent. Definitely recommend and will visit again

Visiting The Folly is always a delight which is why when looking for somewhere to spend an evening with family for my husband's birthday it was obviously our first choice.
The staff always make us feel welcome and always go the extra mile to make sure we have everything we need.
The food is second to none and as person who has no sweet tooth at all I find it amazing how I simply can't resist their desserts!

For the past 11years since we moved from London to Northamptonshire we have struggled to find pubs/restaurants serving decent food. We ate at the Folly as a family and really enjoyed it. The staff are also really friendly and attentive. Thank you it's lovely to have a decent pub so near to us. We'll be back again!

Always, always so good. Having first visited just by chance, we have been back with friends and family several times since. It could not really be better than it is; any attempts to improve it would likely take away from one of the most splendid places to eat that we have ever visited. We've been to the Folly a few times now and have always had a very enjoyable meal. We visited again this week for a small Christmas celebration and, with one exception regarding a venison portion being tough with gristle, we ALL enjoyed a very delicious meal. I would also hasten to add that the one problem we had was one of 4 venison ordered and all the rest were cooked to perfection! The management dealt with the situation very fairly and throughout the meal we were very well looked after. I can't rate this restaurant highly enough, the food is outstanding and the service extremely friendly. Well done all!

We hadn't been to the folly for a little while but we're nit disappointed. The service was warm and friendly and the meal ( lamb rump special) was just delicious. We had three courses, just the right timings in between and each were lovely. Thank you we will be back, we had a lovely evening.

We enjoyed our lunch this week, which was beautifully cooked and presented. My husband was impressed with the vegetable Wellington-so often vegetarian menus are boring. Not this time. We plan to return when we meet friends.

We are regular diners at The Folly and were keen to return to experience the jazz evening recently. The live music played by Annie on the clarinet and sax was pitched perfectly at a volume whereby one could still maintain an easy conversation with others on the table and the acoustics were far better than I had expected. It made for a relaxed and atmospheric evening which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We hope it will be repeated in the future.
The food as always was scrumptious, beautifully cooked and presented and the service was attentive but not intrusive; prompt yet not rushed and friendly and polite.
Another enjoyable visit positively enhanced by the live music. Back soon!!

We booked a table for our anniversary, having dined at The Folly previously we knew it would be great. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly as expected, however, the breaks between courses were a little longer than previous visits. This will not stop us returning for the wonderful food and enjoyable visits. Look forward to the next fabulous taste experience.

We organised a get together for 7 people when my cousin came down from Edinburgh. We all enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The service was excellent. We will use The Folly again next time we have a get together.

My husband and I arrived rather late in the evening as we were travelling through the area and needed somewhere to stop for dinner. What a gem of a place, despite being very busy we were squeezed in and nothing was to much trouble for them.
We ordered from the menu, which left us salivating before our plates arrived and we weren't disappointed. The marriage of flavours were beautiful, I had lamb which was succulent and juicy. My husband had the chicken highlighted with orange and the citrus panne cotta.
We can't wait for our return at Christmas.

Recommended by relatives in Newport Pagnell we were looking for somewhere to meet up with my son from the US who was travelling to Southport. We arrived to a good welcome and despite my son being half an hour late nothing was too much trouble. Advice on the local congested roads was also given for for my son travelling further north. We had come from Suffolk to eat at the Folly Inn and enjoyed the occasion. Certainly if we are in the area again we will be back.

We were traveling into Towcester a few months back and in passing the Folly said "we must try that" and we did. We have been back 3 times now and had a lovely experience every time the staff are professional but we have found that we could also have a joke with them, which to us make for a pleasurable experience, we travel 20 miles to eat there....... We will be back.

Great dinner, as usual, I've never eaten anything other than the pork belly there. I couldn't find the prunes in the red cabbage though, prefer the spiced apple with prunes to accompany it
Partner loved the freshly cooked lamb fillet, tasty and soft.
Then came the problem! I mistook the bill total of £65 to be £85 so left a £10 tip.The server said that's too much,sir!!! Because I'd left a £30 tip. How many waitresses would have been so honest. Well Done!

Once again, we really enjoyed our meals on Sunday. The food is delicious. It is well presented and flavour combinations are well though-out. This is not run-of-the-mill pub food, it is finer dining at a reasonable price. Children are well catered for too, with their own menu, or a smaller sized Sunday roast and a puzzle/colouring sheet to do if they are younger. We would highly recommend a visit.

I have eaten at The Folly Inn on several occasions, so it can be taken as read that I am most impressed with the wonderful food. For my friend, it was a first; and she loved every moment of our time, every morsel of her food. Always wonderful; amazing staff; and the food is divine. God willing, we will be back again ... and again. A truly wonderful experience in every single way ... and, when we stayed a little too long at table, the staff actually apologised to me ... in fact, I trust they will forgive me for embarrassing them. Our first visit to " The Folly "was very enjoyable. The atmosphere was good and the staff very friendly. The menu choice was excellent and overall the food very good. If I was to make a small constructive criticism it would be that the vegetables were over cooked and possibly the seasoning a little heavy handed. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely return. In our opinion the food highlight of the evening was the delicious " fig, Stilton , chutney and pomegranate " starter !

We visited The Folly for the first time on Friday evening, having driven past it for many years thinking how attractive it looked. Living in Stoke Bruerne we are blessed with many good places to eat. However the folly sits above the above the others for quality. Sunday late lunch was excellent as usual.

This was our third visit in a relatively short period and now our preferred eatery to take visiting friend and family. The food is always excellent and the service/staff are first class.
The atmosphere is relaxed by efficient and its quiet without feeling uncomfortably.
I would normally throw in a small negative to add balance but I can't.

We have drove past many times and have always commented on how nice this place looked and that we must eat there one day. My son was visiting from Amsterdam and we had mum with us,driving home after shopping in MK, so we decided to give it a go. As we stopped on the off chance we had a short wait for a table and we were given nibbles with our drinks. It was well worth the wait, the food was very tasty and the staff were really nice and friendly. We would definitely go again and would recommend eating here .

Meeting a friend midway between our respective work locations I Chose the Folly Inn blind from the web. We had a lovely meal. Great attentive service. Lots of dishes on the menu I fancied, which is unusual for me! The food was lovely and we really enjoyed the Cheeseboard. Great spot, would definitely recommend.

Another tasty meal at this gem of a restaurant. The pulled pork and black pudding hash starter went down a treat with my Captain Caveman other half!! And the Chocolate pot pud drowned all my sorrows!! Lovely staff- shame we didn't meet David as my other half is from the same part of the world. Next time though as there will definitely be one!

We came for dinner here after going to the dog racing and all we have to say afterwards was wow. The food was excellent as was the service! The table next to us thought the same and the chef came out to thank them which we thought was great. I booked a meal for 14 people with 4 days notice, although it took some negotiation regarding the layout and timings, they managed to fit us in. On the day it went up to 18, I was informed they would have to look at it, 20 minutes later i received an email saying they had managed to turn tables around to get us all together. I had no idea at the time this was actually half the seating area we were taking up, but it was the meal before my wedding day and was nervous as we had all sorts of family and friends meeting together so was nervous about how the night would go.
The Food was amazing, the service was fantastic and I cannot thank the Inn enough for how considerate they are, they gave an honest statement about what they would need, how they could handle us and as it turns out it's because they do not want to compromise their extremely high standards.
It is food worth the price, friendly honest service and every guest was extremely happy with their meal. When we returned from our Honeymoon we went back for Sunday Lunch the next day, came away just as happy.
Thank You Folly Inn!! A great venue as long as you book early enough and appreciate they want to give you a great meal in good time.

Myself and my husband had a meal on Sunday evening this past week and it was delicious. The service was faultless and very attentive, we had main courses and desserts with coffee. One of the desserts was slightly cooler so we asked for it to be re-heated and the chef personally delivered a new dessert that was piping hot with apologies. All in all, it was a lovely evening and I will definitely be dining here again and recommending to friends and family that they visit.

We are regulars at The Folly, always meeting friends for lunch. Yesterday was, as always good service, and nice food, although, I think the fish and chips is better with battered fish as if I want breaded fish I can make it myself. Still, it was nicely cooked and presented.

Wednesday evening was my second visit to The Folly. I and my family were just so impressed on my first visit, I was just waiting for an excuse to return! We brought our friends to your restaurant for a lovely meal. My wife and I paid our second visit to the Folly Inn last week to celebrate my birthday. The food was once again excellent, although on a note of constructive criticism, it would be nice to see a simple steak option. It seems unnecessary to have every meat choice marinated in some sophisticated jus. I'd also like to see some fattening and unfussy sweets for those who have cast aside the diet idea for the night. Having said that - we will be back!

Thanks to all for another great evening. Brilliant service, fantastic food and wine and a lovely atmosphere. The black pudding starter and lamb main are the best I have ever had. The St Emillion was also excellent. Whilst we have been before, this was a first time birthday treat for one of our party and she was totally blown away by the food and service. Booked a table for two on 21st Feb...we were greeted by friendly smiley faces, although we were early we could sit in a nice area by the bar, our table was situated well and although the folly was small and full we did not feel overwhelmed by the other customers it was great....the food now what can I say about the food....one word 'FANTASTIC'...I would recommend all my friends and family to definitely visit the Folly as we most definitely will.

My partner and I dined here just before Christmas and had a wonderful dinner. The bar prices were excellent, the food prices were excellent. The food itself was lovely! A little gem of a place. You will not be disappointed with this lovely gastropub. Both the food and the service are second to none. Nothing is too much trouble for the front of house staff and the chef and his team put out very tasty and delicious food, which we feel is cooked from the heart and with passion. My Son, Daughter and I had another thoroughly enjoyable meal @ the Folly on 18/12. A warm welcome was received on arrival with prompt offer of a drink whilst we awaited my son.
The Menu was up to the usual high standard, excellent choices across all 3 courses. We all plumped for the Whitebait as a starter based on previous enjoyment but all 3 of us chose a new and different Main. None of us were disappointed, my Daughter said after she'd finished her Guinea Fowl, 'that's best meal I've had for such a long time'. My son and I both agreed.
The Folly will never be a cheap meal but in terms of value for money it remains our favourite and the best Pub/Restaurant in Towcester and surrounding area.

Another enjoyable evening at The Folly, this time to celebrate a special birthday. The food was delicious and the service great. The dessert platter is a must, if like me you have a sweet tooth. Have visited a few times now travelling in from Northampton and The Folly has fast become my favourite place to eat. Needless to say we will return.

We are lucky enough to Live in Towcester so visit the Folly at every opportunity. We have never had anything but excellent food and service. Can't recommend highly enough. Fantastic restaurant and the chef is exceptional

4 of us dined at folly on tues evening. Best decision we could have made. All of us agreed it was the best meal we had eaten for a long time. Excellent service excellent food many thanks to all concerned.

Our second meal at a fine establishment. Again the food was so so good and the staff were fantastic. We will be back again soon, I cannot recommend The Folly Inn highly enough...the best restaurant in Northamptonshire...big thank you to all of the staff, see you soon

I drive past the Folly Inn twice a day, six times a week and have never stopped. What a mistake that proved to be, ate here on Thursday with some good friends, who had also never been, fabulous! The surroundings, the atmosphere, the fabulous staff and the food - wow! Can't wait to go again, the staff may well get fed up of the sight of us! Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Folly Inn, spot on!

We have recently moved to Towcester and have wanted to try out the Folly Inn since. The food was amazing as was the service. So much so that my fiance is going back this Friday with his family the night before our wedding.

Chose Folly Inn after driving past it on numerous occasions and thinking how lovely it looked. Booked for our wedding anniversary. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. Absolutely lovely lunch. Children's menu is small but well thought out and the burger with chips was great quality. We chose the Folly Ploughmans which was a delicious assortment of usual components complimented by some lovely extras and fantastic fresh crusty bread. We finished off with pud and for me the best chocolate & rum creme brûlée I've ever tasted. We were all made very welcome, especially our dog who was happy to get some attention too. Thank you to everyone for a really lovely lunch experience we'll definitely be back.

Great lunch at the Folly this past Tuesday with friends visiting from Canada. As usual food was excellent as was the wine. Not a budget choice, but you get what you pay for.and well worth it.

Had Sunday lunch at the Folly. As previously everything was a very high standard - the welcome, the staff, the food. It is certainly a place I will recommend to all my friends. It was busy but nothing could be faulted - booking is probably essential.

As always, a fanatic meal at The Folly Inn. My favourite place to eat in Towcester and highly recommended. High quality food in a relaxed setting, I always find room for 3 courses!!

With my family I came to Folly Inn on Christmas Day for lunch. May I just say how much we enjoyed EVERYTHING! The restaurant, the staff, the food. The staff in particular were so friendly & helpful - especially the young lady whose birthday it was!! I will certainly be happy to praise you all to my friends in Towcester. I would highly recommend visiting The Folly Inn.
The food is delicious with a varied menu. The staff are more than welcoming and went out of their way on our visit as we arrived slightly after last meal orders. The Chef, David had no problems at all in firing up his grill again to supply us with our steaks.
I tried The Folly trio for dessert which was a sample dish of 3 of the favourites and it was delicious.
I would definitely recommend and will definitely revisit.

Had a lovely meal with friends at The Folly. Wonderful food, efficient, friendly service and the head chef personally came and asked us if we enjoyed the food and had a chat. A lovely touch we thought.

Had dinner at The Folly Inn Towcester and the food was amazing, I have never tasted salmon so nice and I have eaten salmon in a lot of places. My hub had steak and it was also cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly and helpful. l would highly recommend anyone visiting Towcester or nearby to pay a visit the The Folly, thank you for an amazing evening x x

Last Tuesday I went to The Folly Inn with 2 friends, one visiting from New Zealand, for lunch
The Inn itself made me want to grab my camera and take lots of pictures as it is so attractively thatched and inside has an ambiance and decor both friendly and mellow.
The menu suited me down to the ground and I had difficulty in choosing which of the many dishes that I love I wanted to try. My friend from NZ and I both ordered the salmon and I daringly chose the blue cheese sauce which was exquisite - and also wonderful with the cone of hand made chips I indulged in. The accompanying vegetables were beautiful, especially the bundle of green beans wrapped in Palma Ham.
I took some photographs because the food looked so decorative and enticing.
The fish cakes not only looked wonderful but were also incredible according to the third member of our party.
I really wish I lived nearer because I would take all my friends there regularly as it is so reasonably priced. Well done Rob!

Today I ate the best fishcakes EVER - salmon & dill with a beautifully light crust. The presentation of all our meals was a feast to the eye, and the tastebuds were equally delighted. Our first visit and we will certainly be back. Lovely service, ambience, very tastefully decorated and completely unpretentious. Loved it! Thank you to the great staff in the kitchen and in the restaurant and bar.

We are so glad these guys are in town. It is about time that Towcester had a decent local restaurant. We absolutely love dining here, its affordable too and the food is gorgeous!!! Keep the chef happy as we don't want to loose him!!

We diined at The Folly Saturday week ago and we enjoyed it very much and so we went back this Sunday we had Sunday dinner. Two of us had the lamb, it was beautifull and one had the rabbit pie.

Eight of us travelled from Coventry to have Sunday lunch at the Folly Inn. It was more than worth the journey. Those of us who ordered the slow roasted pork thought it was the most flavoursome we had ever eaten others had beef which was also excellent. Lovely starters and delicious desserts, a thoroughly fine lunch, only whish it was closer!
